to the official website of The Los Angeles League of Photographers (LALOP). LALOP was started by four Los Angeles photographers in 2002. The organization is dedicated to the presentation of contemporary photography by some of Los Angeles' best photographers. Like the 1930's to 50's New York Photo League, the LA League's mission is to expose the wider public to photography's essential social, political, and aesthetic values. With this being our mission, LALOP.org will display the work of members as both personal projects and in the future, as group projects of the LA League.
The photographers' portfolios presented on LALOP.org are all personal projects ranging from traditional street photography to impressionist art photography. Each photographer has spent many days, weeks, and even years shooting, printing, and perfecting each portfolio. Some portfolios are complete while others are still works in progress. The images shown here are just a sampling of bigger bodies of work by the photographers.
It is our hope that you enjoy your experience on LALOP.org and comeback and visit us again as the site and its contents will be constantly evolving as each photographer's vision evolves.
